NORTHLAND WORKFORCE TRAINING CENTER CELEBRATES MILESTONES AND LOOKS AHEAD TO THE FUTURE

Officials hosted a “State of Northland Workforce Training Center” event Tuesday to highlight some of the center’s milestones

 

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Northland Workforce Training Center is celebrating its milestones while looking ahead to the future.

 

Officials hosted a “State of Northland Workforce Training Center” event Tuesday to highlight some of the center’s milestones since the organization was created in 2018.  They also talked about what their plans are over the next five years, which include:

 

  • Plans include expanding enrollment from 300 to 500 students
  • There will be new programs for auto technology, clean technology, HVAC, and more
  • Northland also introduced its new clean energy experience center.
  • It will welcome high schoolers and adults seeking clean energy career paths

 

“There’s a ton of people on the east side of Buffalo that need those jobs..so trying to make sure that we’re creating access to those opportunities being that they are both for our residents as well as business and industry,” said Stephen Tucker, CEO Northland Workforce Training Center.

 

Northland Workforce Training Center offers associate degree programs, certificates and for-credit opportunities, and works with SUNY partners in providing financial help for training costs.
